On the LiveNation page for this tour:
As part of Iron Maiden’s on-going effort to ensure their fans always have access to the best possible tickets at the fairest possible price, paperless tickets will be offered for select shows. For additional information, visit www.ticketmaster.com/paperless
I dig paperless tickets - yes, you have no choice but to buy your tickets online through ticketmaster but you have a chance of actually getting decent tickets. I got my kid tickets to Miley Cyrus last year and was actually able to buy good seats during the onsale. A concert that had sold out in 5 minutes the year before sold out in a day with the paperless tickets. With paperless tickets, you basically cannot sell your paperless tickets to anyone. If you sold your tickets, you had to go to the venue with your buyer and walk them to the gate. Sounds like a good way to eliminate scalping, yes?
Nope.
Ticketmaster now allows you to sell your paperless tickets through TicketXchange. They will cancel your original tickets and re-issue them in the name of the buyer. So I guess this great new ticket sales method pitched as making it more fair to consumers was just a smokescreen to ensure that Ticketmaster not only has a stranglehold on the primary market but the secondary market as well.
What a bunch of dicks.

I am the thread killer.
Chica!: Lanth - I'm surpirsed you don't have a passport. Even I have a passport. I'd rather go to a show in Canada than Chicago, but, alas, Dan and I can't get into Canada as we both have what are considered felonies in Canada. Of course, there is only a slight possibility we would get pulled for checking but I don't want to spend the money and risk being pulled.

Oh, knock it off, Little Miss I-Vacation-In-Aruba. Of course you have one!
Closest I've been to Canadia (sic) is Grand Forks. Closest I've been to Mexico is Tucson or San Diego. I do fly a lot for work and pleasure but I've never been off the mainland our outside our borders. So I've had no need for a passport. That said, I will be in Mexico in January of 2011 so I do need to get one, and even I know that it's not the most prudent thing in the world to wait till the last minute to get it. So...fuckin' Winnipeg could be the best of both worlds. No James LaBrie bullshit and my Canader cherry finely shredded into some Eddie shaped hymen julienne.

Geez. I went there once. Before you needed a passport. My passport has never been stamped. At this rate, it probably never will be.
Ok, well, I stand corrected then. I thought you went there twice, both post 9/11. Clearly I know not of what I was talking about.
As a result, I will pour another vodka.
Dog, as much as you seem to travel, there's a lot of awesome places in the world.
And I was bummed that they don't really stamp passports much any more, at least in Europe.
It's not the heat, it's the stupidity

Saw them in Toronto on an off date of that Ozzfest tour they did, and the Canadian fans are AWESOME! If you can see them in the Molsen Center, I highly recommend it. The old lady has ALWAYS wanted to see them in Montreal or Quebec cause when they do French speaking dates, Bruce is pretty fluent and does ALL the crowd bander in French. There is a bootleg of them on the Somewhere In Time in France where he does this, and it gives the old lady heart bubbles everytime. Looks like we are doing San Bernadino and Chicago. (I can't talk her into going to MSG )

Have you been to the Chicago venue before? Been reading reviews online and it sounds like it pretty much sucks. I would hate to go that far and have a shite time. For us, it's Chicago or nothing since Chicago is the cheapest place to get to. Of course, this assumes I can get tickets. (fingers crossed)

I went in like 2001 and it was alright. I think everyone you talk to has the romantic idea of how GREAT Alpine Valley is and they are all comparing it to that. I had pretty good seats, so I had no complaints...
Lanth, the passport fees are going up any minute now, you may want to get on that to save a little $.
